30 September 02: Hard by a gas station, donut shop, fast food palace, and West Marine, at the foot of Ontario Street on the Niagara River in the Black Rock section of Buffalo, a few minutes from the house, stands a planted anchor of gigantic proportions. It has a large ring in its nose and a wooden crosspiece. X marks the spot where this once noble nautical gem has fallen by the roadside.
