February 04: When
it comes to building your own boats, it's a lot like potato
chips or home-baked oatmeal cookies ... betcha can't build just
one!
And just as baseball always has a batter on deck, so I always
have a boat design on deck, waiting to be built.
Notice,
too, that On Deck posts are a snapshot in time.
I dream of many more boats than I actually build, and some of
the boats mentioned here are still dreams and gleams, and because
this ain't baseball, there's room On Deck for

I'm not tricked by this, I do feel the dim belief that warmer
days and things like the building of backyard boats will
again be part of my life. Somebody say amen ...

The
container, the thing contained
-- At some point in my brilliant career as an undergraduated
student majoring in English literature, I heard a phrase that
I loved immediately and understood later, if at all ...

Build
a boat, build a fleet
-- What
builder of boats is content with projects in hand? I would
wager that most of us have one or more boats in mind.I have
had my eye on a Jim Michalak prototype design called
Musicbox
